Kilimo Hakika is an organization dedicated to promoting validated farming practices and established out of a passion for sustainable agriculture, with the aim to enhance community well-being and environmental health. Utilizing model farms, knowledge hubs and knowledge labs, we assist stakeholders in understanding and engaging their agricultural target audience effectively. We emphasize the importance of designing solutions with and for farmers through a Design-Test-Rollout approach, ensuring that agricultural innovations are scalable and successful.
To showcase and promote adoption and consistent use of practically validated, innovative agricultural technologies and practices to sustainably elevate agricultural development in all nodes of the valuechain.
We establish and manage small and large acres of model farms with various subsistence and commercial valuechain crops under different management practices to showcase the relevance, usability, appropriateness and impact of GAPs, TIMPs and Digital Tools in agriculture. We also use these sites to test and validate new technologies; and as knowledge labs / learning sites for our farmer trainings and support.
Success can not be achieved in isolation so we work closely with local communities, farmers, development partners, government, agriculture technology companies and service providers to leverage strengths and goodwill necessary for sustainable development.
We partner with technology developers, research institutions, the government, and development agencies to promote, popularise and scale the adoption and consistent use of tested and validated Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs), Technologically Innovative Management Practices (TIMPs), and Digital Technologies.
We provide field sites for seed research, technology testing and piloting.
We prioritize eco-friendly farming methods anchored on innovative practical technologies to ensure a harmonious relationship between agriculture, nature and sustained land-use.
